Claim-Evidence-Reasoning or CER is a writing strategy that can develop a student’s analytical thinking and argumentative writing skills. Typically used in a science setting with labs, it could reasonably be applied to other subjects like math and English. In this session teachers will get an overview of what CER is and how to effectively use it. Teachers will receive templates to use with students as well as time to brainstorm ways to implement this form of formative assessment into their classrooms
